Slow Food Fleurieu Peninsula is about pleasure, culture and conviviality.
Slow Food Fleurieu Peninsula is proud to work with Fleurieu Peninsula Food and the Fiesta! working party in highlighting the Slow events in Fiesta! 2008.
Slow Food is an international movement in support of good food, gastronomic pleasure, a slow pace of life and the survival of the planet. Slow Food aims to protect traditional and sustainable quality foods, primary ingredients, conserve methods of cultivation and artisan processing, defending the biodiversity of cultivated and wild varieties of food. Slow Food promotes Good, Clean and Fair food and wine that is tasty, flavoursome, stimulating and satisfying, produced without harming the earth or human health.
Fleurieu Peninsula Slow Food Convivium is one of over 1,003 Convivia in 77 countries. If you would like to know more about Slow Food visit www.slowfood.com.
When you see the Fleurieu Peninsula Slow Food Snail in the Fiesta! program you know this event is an inspiring antidote to ‘fast food’ serving tasty, fresh, seasonal local food and wine produced in an environmentally sustainable way, that the grower or maker will be present, and there will be an educational aspect encouraging you to explore more about good, clean and fair food.
